Hello! My name is Pat. I have been an English and special education teacher since 2015. I love working with students of all ages - from preschoolers to college students. I love teaching phonics and vocabulary because there are so many ways to make the class fun. I like getting to know my students well. I love listening to their stories-- it makes them and me excited to get to class. I want my students to feel comfortable and know that they are smart and can be the best version of themselves. But, it's also important for me to challenge my students. It helps them learn that they can do hard things! My lessons are effective because I provide opportunities for repeated practice and I give instant feedback. My background in special education allows me to modify the content based on a student's current level. I also have a lot of behaviour and socio-emotional skills strategies up my sleeves! In my spare time, I do sports and it helps keep my mind active and my body healthy. My Superpower is that I do Muay Thai (kickboxing) and love martial arts. I am looking forward to seeing you in my class!
